Mr Roy Ginn Chairman & Exhibition Manager Hello, My name is Roy I have been a member of the club for 25 years or so. and I have been the Chairman of the club for the last nine years or so, and have served as chairman on and off in previous years as well. I primarily model in OO gauge. However I do appreciate all scales and gauges associated with model railways. I am the prime instigator of the club having a corporate image to present to the public, having introduced ID badges, new shirts, and a modern digital communication system which we use at our show and when we visit other shows. I also work very hard on behalf of the club members to keep the club going from strength to strength. R.G. |

Mr Glen Barry Vice Chairman
Hello there. My name is Glen and I have
been involved with the club for about 6 1/2 years. I have been doing the
Vice-Chairman job since February 2008. I am currently the only member of
the club to work in the rail industry, and can be found working on-train
as a Train Captain anywhere along the c2c route form Shoebury-Fenchurch
St. If you do come to our Annual Exhibition, you will find me on the
club stand assisting people with question about the show, what we do and
how to go about joining the club. In terms of modelling, I did for many
years model OO gauge, but I have now moved on to bigger and better
things, and have for the last 6 year or so been mainly playing with 16mm
narrow gauge live steam in the garden. |

Mr Paul Turner Secretary Hi, My name is Paul. I have been a member of the club for a little over four years, I have recently taken over the job of Club Secretary following the retirement of Reg Curd who having done to job for some considerable length of time has decided to hang up his scribe and slate, but only after lining me up for the task, So What have I done to deserve this? although I must say with the help of Reg who I am sure will be keeping me on the rails, I will be able to rise to the tasks required. So not much time for me to play with my G Scale now, which will please my wife! P.T |

Mr Trevor Grout Treasurer, & Assistant Exhibition Manager Hi, I'm Trevor and I have recently taken over the treasurers job from Mick, who has now retired, he will certainly be a hard act to follow!!! I have been a member of the club now for over 20 years my main focus at the moment is with the Southern Railway Branch line at Westerham, Kent in S4, the station however no longer exists. I am currently in the process of building a scale model of the station. I also enjoy modern image modelling (tin boxes as some would say!) T.G. |

Mr Jim Rogers Hello I’m Jim and I have been a club member for just over three years, this year is my first as a committee member. My own set up is in OO which, fortunately, is a great delight to my grand children (my excuse) I have plenty of space in the loft and since retiring I have now managed to set out the layout properly. That is as permitted by senior management. My aim is to promote the varied interest that model railway making can give, as well as the fun, pleasure and companionship from belonging to Shoeburyness Model Railway Club. |

Mr Richard Turner
Hi my name is Richard, I only joined the
Club just over two years ago. I joined to enjoy learning from others
and develop my interest in model railways. In particular I wanted to
learn more about Digital Command Control (DCC), the latest and most
exciting development in model railways. I was responsible along with a
small group of like minded members to build and run the Club’s first
ever DCC exhibition layout. We welcome new members interested in DCC
and are proposing to expand the layout in the future. |
